Hello Church Family,
Close your eyes. Now, imagine that you are in a car, riding along and enjoying a great song on the radio. What are you doing? You are singing along with the radio, of course! Now, close your eyes and think about this verse from the Bible. "It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to God's name" (Psalms 92:1). Yes, you can do it -- you can sing praises to God! Afterall, if you can sing along to the radio in your car (or in the shower), you can certainly use the same voice to praise our Heavenly Father!
As we come into His presence, we should come with a desire to offer Him everything within our hearts without reservation. He doesn't want us to hold anything back. When we praise Him, we should praise with every ounce of our strength. God is not content with some of our worship or part of our praise. He doesn't want our leftover time or our self-centered attitudes toward worship. He wants every good thing we can give; He wants it all. But, do you know what? When we give Him all, He will give us all-- all of Himself.
As we begin this New Year, I challenge you to give Him all your praise as we lift our voices together in song. There is a place in the music ministry of New Hope for everyone. Come find your place, whether it be in the choir or in the sanctuary, and whereever that place may be, let's "Sing to the Lord a new song..." (Psalms 96:1).
Singing praise to God,
Melody Bradley
