This committee shall be comprised of six members, two of whom shall be elected annually by the church for a term of three years. The election will be held at the time of the deacon and trustee election. Members are eligible for re-election. The personnel committee will be responsible for policies and procedures relative to paid employees and staff other than the pastor. They will interview prospective employees and staff applicants. The committee will bring any recommended candidate for a staff position to the church for vote prior to final selection. In coordination with the budget and stewardship committee, they will recommend salaries and benefits for church employees. They will periodically survey the need for additional and new positions. The committee will be the intermediary between the church, committees, or staff in cases involving disciplinary and/or dismissal actions. They will prepare written position descriptions for all church employees and present them to the church for action. The supervision and evaluation of staff personnel is not their responsibility.
